The program has been finalised. It contains the abstracts and some practical information. Participants will get a paper copy upon arrival.

This is the second number theory winter school at Postech. The aim of this winter school is to understand the current state of knowledge on the conjecture of Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer and the techniques that have been used to attack it. The winter school will consist of several lecture series by some of the world's leading experts on the conjecture, and will also offer problem sessions, as well as time for interaction between young researchers and senior faculty. The level of the lectures will be geared towards graduate students and young postdocs, as well as experts in related areas of pure mathematics.

Preliminary lectures, covering some prerequisites, will be delivered on the 6-7 January. The main lectures will be given in the week 9-13 January.

The winter school is being supported by the PMI (Pohang Mathematical Institute), the Dept of Mathematics at POSTECH, BK, BSRI at POSTECH, and the NRF-Research Fund. The organisers are grateful to the sponsors for making this event possible!
